Dr. Contreras completed his undergraduate training at the University of Southern California and then attended medical school at George Washington University Medical Center in our nation’s capital. He came back home for residency training in Internal Medicine/Hospital Medicine at the University of Southern California Medical Center.
Dr. Contreras has worked at federally qualified health centers, helping our medically underserved communities. He worked both as a clinician and as an administrator implementing programs to help our communities achieve better health outcomes. He further educated himself with fellowships in physician leadership at the University of California at San Francisco, ambulatory management programs at the Harvard School of Public Health, and became a Certified Life Care Planner.
He is currently in private practice helping manage people with acute illness and chronic disease. In addition, he has a focus on pain management, shoulder injury, low back injury, knee injury, neck injury, traumatic brain injury, headaches, depression, anxiety disorder, complex medication management, and all forms of internal/end organ damage- heart, brain, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach.
